I’ve enjoyed composing for award-winning choreographer Anna Watkins again this year. We’ve been frequent creative collaborators since 2013!
For this project, Anna was commissioned by the Rubicon Dance Company to create a new work for their Triple Bill which will premiere in Newport on 22nd September, with plans to tour nationally throughout 2022 and 2023.
I’ve loved working with acclaimed choreographer, producer and musician Bawren Tavaziva on creating and recording an original soundtrack for this piece! I can’t wait to see it come to life on stage with dancers 🙂
Watkins’ first work for the company explores a ‘therapy room’ told through her powerful and athletic choreographic language. Drawing on shared experiences of depression, the humanity of the work will be found through her courageous self-exploration laid bare before the audience, with an original soundtrack created by Bawren Tavaziva & Zosia Jagodzinska and costume designs from Rhiannon Matthews.
